Imagine waking up one morning, and seeing this. It looks HUGE doesn't it? Monkey is actually pretty small (the size of a melon), and from the side, my baby bump is still pretty small. But not from my point of view! Every morning I wake up and freak out a little. Wouldn't you?
Anyhow, it's springtime in the Delta! For a full week we've traded our coats and jackets for shorts and skirts. The weather is warm and beautiful and daffodils are blooming in our backyard. It's the perfect weather for a picnic. My parents bought Jemar a picnic set for his birthday last year and we've only been able to use it for "fake picnics" inside. I may have to wheedle him into a real spring picnic this week.
In spite of the weather, we had two doctors appointments this week. One was a surprise (infections during pregnancy = immediate antibiotics) and the other was a routine visit. Monkey's heart was beating away and everything looked great. In two weeks we're having a 3D ultrasound to see all of monkey's organs and get some detailed pictures. We're both excited as it's been 10 weeks since we last saw him/her.
We're also excited because we have five days left until Spring Break! Come on Friday!

Have I told you I think the moniker "Monkey" is adorable? I also think you're on to something by not telling a gender or a name. I think we'll have to tell people we're naming our child one of Babak's outrageous name ideas someday... :)
ReplyDeleteAnyways, a fear of mine is not being able to reach or see my feet when we get to the baby phase of our marriage. Your picture is affirming this fear...
